The Czech Army Museum in Prague

Due to my project being about the eras of Soviet and Nazi rule of The Czech Republic I went to the Army Museum in hopes of gathering some more information on different occupations, pertaining to military infrastructure in country. The history of what is not The Czech Republic is a very complex one, spanning back through  a series of different governing countries. Only recently in the past 30 years has this country been completely independent, previously, and for a short time being a part of the independent nation of Czechoslovakia, before Soviet rule. Understandable then, the history of the Czech Military is abstruse, having played major roles in both World Wars as well as many other conflicts in the European and neighboring continents.

Unfortunately I was unable to find any leads specific to my project, being it a very acute topic with information not readily accessible. However the museum was incredibly informative to the history of this countries military efforts. It consists of two full floors abounding in information and artifacts dating back to the mid 1800's.

A series of wartime effort posters

During both World Wars, a lot of fighting was done in the close quarters of trenches when one side of the field would charge the other. This required weapons, a large number of them being custom made, that could be used in hand to hand combat. This is a Russian made "swivel" or "club", which design only adds to the brutal of trench warfare.

This is a fortress cannon, designed by Skoda, the car manufacturer that was used as a defensive line for bunkers.
